I didn’t know Esme on a personal basis aside from the handful of times I met her; we were four years apart in age and she moved to Austin before we could ever be friends, but she was a near and dear friend of my ex-boyfriend who held the utmost respect and love for her and my acquaintanceship with her will just never be enough. When I think of Esme, I think of seeing her at shows, especially at the HORR when she was in town here, always with a constant smile on her face and a true unabashed spirit for the love of music and musicianship that was just evident by looking at her. She was a unique individual. Everything that has been said in memoriam is true. She carried an air of positivity that someone would have felt bad even for envying. She was and will forever be remembered as a bright soul. She is a giant loss to the music community and I know she will be missed.
